JESSE OWENS MEMORIAL COMPLEX

The regional meet will be held at the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex and the adjacent Hulcy Fields. The address is 9191 South Polk St., Dallas, TX 75232.

COURSE MAPS

1A, 2A, 3A & 4A Girls: 2 miles

5A & 6A Girls: 5k

All Boys Divisions: 5k

COURSE INSPECTION

Course inspection will be Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2-6 p.m. (dusk).

KINCAIDE STADIUM USAGE

Kincaide Stadium may be used for warmups only. No team camping areas, tents, bags or backpacks allowed.

PARKING

Parking is $5. Lots will open Monday at 7:45 a.m. In order to reduce traffic congestion, coaches should not enter until two hours prior to their championship.

PACKET PICK UP

Packet pick up will be at the course on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3-6 p.m. or Monday, Oct. 28 at the times listed below.

ENTRY DEADLINE

All entries for the meet must be posted on www.directathletics.com by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23. No faxed entries will be accepted! Do not send regional entries to the UIL office in Austin. Each school is responsible for seeing that its entries are in on time.

ENTRY FEE

$20 per athlete (including alternates). Make checks payable to “UTA Athletics”. Payment must be received for entries to be processed. If your district is paying entry fees for all teams and individuals, please submit a list of schools that are covered by the payment. Checks not received by Oct. 23, must be brought to packet pickup. Entry fees must be postmarked as soon as possible after your district meet. Please include your confirmation sheet from Direct Athletics with your payment. This confirmation sheet serves as your entry into the meet. We recommend certified/overnight mail. Qualifiers may be entered as an individual or through the team column on Direct Athletics.

ALTERNATES

Any alternates must be listed on your entry form in order to be eligible to run.

REGIONAL QUALIFIERS

The top three teams and top 10 individuals finishing from their district meet are eligible to compete in the regional championship. Do not enter through Direct Athletics unless your school has qualified a team or individual for the regional championship.

STATE QUALIFIERS

The first four teams and the top 10 individuals not already on one of the advancing teams in the regional meet qualify for the state meet.

PROTESTS

Protests must be in writing and delivered to the meet referee within 30 minutes of the posting of results.

Please note the time schedule includes a break between the 5A & 3A races in order to help alleviate traffic concerns. The awards ceremony will be held in the parking lot. Trophies will be issued to the first-place team in each division, medals to the team members of the first three teams in each division and medals to the first three individuals in each division.
